Purchased in utero by Capt George Savile from Crabbet in 1903, he was purchased by Homer Davenport of New Jersey and exported to the USA in 1910 and was later acquired by WR Brown for Maynesboro Stud.  Originally named "Lal-i-Abdar", his name was changed when he was exported to the USA.

A flashy golden chestnut with white markings standing around 15.0 hands, he was an excellent sire exerting considerable influence.  He only sired 4 foals in England before his export, but his American foal crop numbers 46 registered purebred foals.
