Basilisk White Mare, foaled 1876-1891 by Desert Bred parents Bred by: Ebd el Jadir of Deys Strain: Seglawieh Jedranieh Stood: 14.1 hands Registration: GSB #32 Ebd el Jadir reportedly acquired Basilisk's dam from Faris Asaat who had stolen her from a Bedouin of the Abadat of Sebaa Anazeh! She was purchased by Mr Skene on behalf of Wilfred Blunt in February 1878 and exported to Crabbet in 1878. She was purchased by the Duke of Westminster in August 1884 for £200 and crossed with Thoroughbred stallions. She was put down in 1891.
