Mahruss II Chestnut Stallion, foaled 1893 By Mahruss ex (Bint) Bint Nura (Aziz-Bint Nura) Bred by: Ali Pasha Sherif, Cairo, Egypt Strain: Dahman Nejib Stood: 14.2 hands Registrations: EGYPT #129 / GSB #235 Purchased by the Blunts from Ali Pasha in January 1896, he formed part of the first consignment of Ali Pasha stock to be exported to Newbuildings in May 1897. He was purchased by Colonel Hamilton Leigh in 1900. Used mainly for riding during his three years at Crabbet, he only sired a couple of purebred foals in England - however these few had a huge influence on the breed.
