Merzuk Chestnut Stallion, foaled 1887-1893 By Wazir ex Makbula el Kebira (Shueyman-Bint Jellabiet Feysul) Bred by: Ali Pasha Sherif, Cairo, Egypt Strain: Kehailan Jellabi Registrations: EGYPT #214 / GSB #2111 Purchased by the Blunts from Ali Pasha in January 1889, he was imported from Sheykh Obeyd to Crabbet in 1891 but only spent one season there. He was purchased by Sir Henry Lock and exported to South Africa in 1891. He is important as the sire of Ridaa. Sadly he died from African horse sickness in 1893 and left no bloodlines there.
