Rodan Chestnut Stallion, foaled 1906 By Harb ex Rose of Sharon (Hadban-Rodania) Bred by: Crabbet Arabian Stud Strain: Kehailan Rodan Stood: 15.1 hands Registration: AHR #258 Purchased in utero by Spencer Borden in 1905 and foaled in the USA. Mr Borden entered him in the first organised distance and weight carrying endurance test in September 1913 and he finished fourth. He was also one of the first US Remount stallions and did exceptionally well as a sire. He is widely described as a very typey individual with excellent shoulders and withers although he also had a pair of crooked hind legs, a trait often passed to his offspring. In a letter to Lady Anne Blunt in 1907, Spencer Borden expressed the thought of having Rodan gelded because he was difficult to handle and had a "nasty temper". Thankfully this didn't happen and he sired some very good offspring.
