Wild Thyme

Bay Mare, foaled 1876

Bred by: the Baggara tribe of the Euphrates

Strain: Kehaileh Ras el Fedawi

Registration: GSB #40

Purchased by Mr Skene on behalf of the Blunts from the Baggara tribe. At this time the Blunts believed she was from the same strain as the Thoroughbred founder "Darley" but this later proved not to be the case. Exported to Crabbet in 1878, she was sold at the 1882 Crabbet Sale. She was broken to harness and driven by Wilfred Blunt in a phaeton with Meshura. Her bloodline died out at Crabbet but continued through her daughter Raschida who went to Miss Dillon's stud.

1883:   Raschida, bf by Kars

1888:   Wild Bee, bf by Rataplan
